April sales mark the sixth consecutive month of market share growth
April Highlights:
- Ford Fusion sales rose 24%
- Ford F-150 realized a 17% increase last month
- Ford E-Series sales rose 3%
- Lincoln MKZ sales were up 30%
- Lincoln MKX sales increased 7%
- F-Series is the best-selling nameplate in Canada
Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw market share increase for the sixth consecutive month in April led by sales of the Ford Fusion, the most fuel-efficient mid-size sedan in Canada, which increased 24.4 per cent over the same period last year.
"With our launch of the 2010 Ford Fusion and Fusion Hybrid, sales have shown that we are building vehicles that consumers really value," said David Mondragon, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. "Just this week, drivers trained in mileage-maximizing techniques drove the 2010 Fusion Hybrid more than 2,300 kilometres on a single tank of gas."
Also contributing to the growth in market share are sales of the Lincoln MKZ which saw an increase of 30 per cent compared to last April.
April also marked the 45th anniversary of the iconic Ford Mustang. The 2010 Mustang delivers even more power, new technologies; fast, fun, affordable driving and is in dealer showrooms now.
